It’s Christmas Eve! Finally it’s appropriate to rock the red and green together without looking like a freak. It’s fun to dress festively, and that extends to your nails. Even if you’re not dressing up, your nails can certainly get into the Christmas spirit and look the part.
Here are my 5 perfect polishes for Christmas:
OPI’s “Ali’s Big Break,” $10
I obviously had to include this one, simply for the oh-so-fabulous name (it’s my spelling and everything!). But aside from the name drop, this shade really is a great holiday red. It’s a deep, rich ruby with a hint of shimmer.
For beauties on a budget, Sinful’s nail polish can’t be beat. This classic red (it’s less orange than it looks in the picture) is named after supermodel Cindy Crawford —and it’s just as glam as its namesake.
This color, from the brand’s Spring 2010 collection, is a another classic red: it’s rich, bright and cheery without being vampy.
Who says you have to wear red? This deep emerald green is the perfect compliment to a red dress, and it’s more unexpected for nails than the traditional rouge.
And here’s the color I’ll be rocking for Christmas. China Glaze’s Ruby Pumps is the perfect glittery red, because it manages to be subtle but have impact. I’m not into shimmer because often times it looks tacky, but this shade is understated glitz; it’s pretty and elegant.
