2022 was a year I will never forget. ✨ 2021 was difficult for me, but as it was coming to a close and I was going through yet another major life shift (leaving my job), I looked ahead to 2022 and felt with such certainty and peace that a fulfilling new chapter was beginning. There have been several times this year I’ve paused and thanked the universe for delivering on that promise: ✨ 2022 was the one of the best years of my life. ✨ Life felt full and balanced, with lots of family time, one-on-one time with Dan (including trips together and 46 date nights), alone time for myself, and quality time with friends (friendships both new and old). I’ve loved traveling again (memorable trips to Turks and Caicos, St. Pete Beach, Palm Springs, Vegas, Vermont, Rosemary Beach and New Orleans, plus quick getaways to Chicago and KC); exploring and falling more smitten with my adopted hometown, St. Louis; growing my friendships with the amazing women I’ve met here; and the privilege of spending my days with the smartest, funniest little 2-year-old I know. Life is good. It may look simple to some, but most days, I feel like I’m living a charmed life—and I am so, so grateful for it. 💛 2022, I loved you! Here’s to more memories, growth and joy in 2023. 🎉

All the books I read (and listened to) this past year! 📚 I might have some unpopular opinions about a few that didn’t live to the hype or my own expectations for an author I love, but even the “meh” reads kept my interest enough to keep me going. 2022 was the year I got back into reading for pleasure! Joining a book club was a significant part of that and now something I look forward to every month. This was also the year I tried audiobooks for the first time; as an avid podcast listener, I’m not sure what took me so long, but now one of my greatest pleasures is listening to memoirs in the author’s own voice. I haven’t tackled a fiction audiobook yet, so that’s something new for 2023; any favorites?

Jack was lucky enough to meet not one but five Santas this year—including an impromptu run-in at the store during which Jack helped Santa pick out some cheese (“yellow cheese, not white cheese!” according to his retelling). We’ll see who stops by Nana and Grandpa Jack’s chimney tonight… 🎅🏼🎄
